WASHINGTON CITY, Utah - + Video – 2017 marks the 35th Anniversary of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Washington D.C. While many veterans in southern Utah may not be able to travel to see the permanent monument, they have the opportunity to see a traveling version on display this weekend.

A traveling version of the Vietnam Memorial Wall is set up at the Zion Harley Davidson parking lot in Washington City through Sunday. While the wall is only a replica of the real thing, those who came from near and far to see it say it means everything to see the names of those who gave their lives.

The Vietnam War was one of the most divisive in history and is still hard to talk about for those who lived through it.

The Vietnam Veterans Memorial fund sponsors the Wall that Heals tour. The wall will be on display in over 40 communities this year. The exhibit is a 250 foot long replica of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial and includes a traveling mobile education center.

The traveling wall will be up for the public to see through Sunday, March 19.
