ST. GEORGE, Utah - + Video– Hundreds of bicyclists will converge in Southern Utah Saturday, Oct. 22,  for the 13th Annual Tour de St. George.  This year the cyclists will ride to help the homeless.

Red Rock Bicycle Company is teaming up with Switchpoint Community Resource Center to “Break the Cycles of Homelessness.” The event hopes to raise $30,000 in support.

Joey Dye, Marketing Director for Red Rock Bicycle Company said he is expecting approximately 700 competitors to participate. An estimated 80 percent of the participants are from out of town, and will bring in a projected $100,000 to $200,000 to the community.

The race begins at 8:00 a.m. at Tonaquint Intermediate School. The mild temperatures are expected to make the 35, 75 and 100 mile rides an unforgettable experience.

While on line registration is closed, people can still register Friday at Red Rock Bicycle, from 1:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., and Saturday the morning of the event at the beginning of the race, from 6:30-7:30 a.m.
