Southern Utah’s economy gaining momentum with expanding population

ST. GEORGE, Utah - + Video – St. George is at the top of the pack compared to other cities in Utah when it comes to growth. That’s according to statistics from the Utah Department of Workforce Services. Senior Economist Lecia Langston reinforced area growth in southern Utah at the annual “What’s Up Down South” Economic Summit Thursday.  Langston said that the St. George area is experiencing a 7% job growth rate, while unemployment remains lower than the national average, at 3.2%. 

Business leaders and government officials were presented with various news about the growth and were given insight as to the wisest way to approach it heading into the future.
