IVINS, Utah - + Video – About 300 people attended the second annual “Flightless Honor Flight” at the Southern Utah Veterans Home in Ivins February 4. The guests of honor were veterans from World II, Korean and Vietnam Wars.
The flightless flight is extended to those veterans who are unable to travel to Washington D.C., for health reasons. Volunteers try and make the experience one that is both realistic and memorable honoring those veterans who served our country. Family members are also invited to make the occasion even more special.
This year the event honored the former mayor of Ivins, Jack Reber, who was instrumental in getting the Southern Utah Veterans Home built in Ivins.
