WASHINGTON COUNTY, Utah- + Video –  The Washington County School Board inducted two new members to it’s board of trustees Tuesday.

Becky Dunn and Terry L. Hutchinson were sworn into their newly elected positions at noon. The board also elected Dave Stirland as their new President and Kelly Blake as Vice President.

Dunn is a mother and an accountant who has been attending school board members for a number of years. Hutchinson is an attorney at law and hosts his own book review show on KDXU AM radio in St. George. Both trustees said that they look forward in helping to oversee the massive school district budget of over $230 million.

The new members were tasked first thing with redistricting schools based upon growth and population demands. Four new schools are being built in the district. Two of those are elementary schools.

While some parents expressed concerns over the safety of the changes, the board passed changes to elementary school boundaries. The proposed boundary changes can be found on the school’s website at http://www.washk12.org/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=79.
