ST. GEORGE, Utah - + Video – East Elementary students packed up their school supplies and books headed for a new school. An estimated 645 students, Pre-K-5, now call the new Legacy Elementary School their new home. While the move took a couple of days, both students and teachers were excited to begin their classes on Monday.
At a cost of about $12.8 million, the new Legacy Elementary School is the first two-story school in the Washington County School District. It not only affords much more classroom space, but also houses a larger gymnasium and lunchroom facilities.
While the move was bitter sweet to some teachers who have taught at East Elementary for years, it will now become their new place to teach.
