Dean Cox fills 20 year seat of outgoing Washington County Commissioner Alan Gardner

WASHINGTON COUNTY, Utah - + Video – Jan 3, 2017 - Newly elected Washington County Commissioner Dean Cox was sworn into office Tuesday, vowing to uphold the constitution and do his best in filling the shoes of longtime outgoing commissioner, Alan Gardner. Gardner served as Washington County commissioner for 20 years, leaving a legacy of knowledge and dedication to tough issues.

Gardner watched as a spectator while his successor took oath. Cox immediately began making motions and comments as the weekly commission meeting went forward. Although he's retired, Gardner said he plans to stay involved with the American Lands Council and issues involving the Habitat Conservation Plan.
