ST. GEORGE, Utah - + Video –  There are an estimated 1,000 homeless children in Washington County. Many of those children live in motels, vehicles, at the local homeless shelter or with other families.

The Assistance League of Southern Utah is a non profit organization that has been helping to clothe and provide reading materials for children in need.

For the past ten years the league has built up a network of collaboration with the school district, and other non profit organizations to answer the calls for help. Many of those calls come from areas of poverty. Through fundraising efforts, Operation School Bell financially supports disadvantaged and at risk children making a difference in their future.

On February 11, 2017, the Assistance League held it’s annual Gala in Sun River where Mayor Jon Pike proclaimed that day as their own special day in honor of the important assistance they provide.
