College Basketball

Utah Utes / March Madness 2016

Ep174 Album Art

The Runnin' Utes are riding high after beating ninth-ranked Arizona for the first time since 1998. But will having an entire week off be a problem when they close out their season against Colorado on Saturday?

Securing a top four spot in the Pac-12 means Utah will get a first round BYE in the conference tournament. Is it beneficial to have that time off or should a team as hot as the Utes want to play right away?

Saturday's game will be senior day but in all likelihood it will be the final home game for Jakob Poeltl too. With his career at Utah probably winding down we do the natural thing and compare him to former Ute Andrew Bogut. Who was the better college player? Who will go down as the best pro player?

BYU Cougars / March Madness 2016

BYU finished the regular season with a very respectable 22-9 record. But losses to PortlandPacific and Pepperdine will likely keep the Cougars out of the NCAA Tournament and have fans hurling criticism at Dave Rose. Is the frustration understandable? Should any team always expect to win against lesser teams? Can BYU win the West Coast Conference tournament and punch their ticket to the Big Dance?

NBA

Utah Jazz

Things are looking pretty bad for the Utah Jazz right now. They have reached one of the toughest stretches in the schedule at a time when are desperate for wins. Having lost four straight and seven of their last ten they may have to face the Memphis Grizzlies without Rodney Hood. Is there anything Quin Snyder can do to stop the bleeding until the schedule eases up? Have they already played themselves out of a playoff spot? What changed in the last two weeks?
