Background

Voddov, Inc. (Video on Demand) was started in 2011 and registered the DBA SouthernUtahLive.com (SUL) for greater visibility with the purpose to provide users with access to media via LIVE stream and Video ONDEMAND events for Dixie State University (DSU), Washington County School District (WCSD), Cities in Washington County, County Commission (CC), St George Chamber of Commerce (SGCC), and other community activities and events of interest.

SUL collaborates with Dixie State University (DSU), the Community Education Channel (CEC) and TDS cable TV and has broadcasts LIVE and ON DEMAND events all of which are archived on the website.

LIVE and ON DEMAND events include St. George Marathon, select local high schools basketball and football games, city council meetings, chamber of commerce meetings, economic summit meetings, DSU and high school commencements, special events at DSU, WCSD, and various Cities in the St George area, DSU home game sporting events including basketball and football, soccer, rugby, baseball & softball.

Recently added are stories by longtime TV news reporter Melissa Anderson on DSU campus and Southern Utah community news which can be viewed on SUL at CEC News. Other programming from producers and affiliates in Salt Lake City or Southern Utah include; At Your Leisure, The County Seat Dog & Deuce sports show, Talking Pictures and Josh Pedersen presents.

Technology

Voddov/SUL utilizes the latest in computer technology to stream LIVE and archive OnDemand video and web content for viewing on desktop, tablet, and mobile devices. It delivers LIVE and ONDEMAND HD quality video streams to any device, anywhere, anytime, and to thousands of users at the same time.

Advantage over YouTube

All content on any SUL channel is controlled by those with Channels on SUL whereas on YouTube it is an uncontrolled environment.

Access to Events

Events on SUL are accessible via search, calendar on front page, or channel that is named for the program. We have also automated the process for media creators to easily publish their video/media in our media environment.

Management Team

John Anderson, CEO/CFO

Mr. Anderson is a successful business operator who has both owned and managed many of the businesses with which he has been involved over the past 35 years. His education includes B S in healthcare administration in US, and degrees in financial management, corporate management & securities analyst from Australia. As a Senior Level Financial Manager he has experienced challenging positions within a diverse number of organizations both in the US and Overseas. His financial management expertise and entrepreneurial talents have maximized a variety of business operations, with which he has been involved. For a number of years he operated a medium size long term care management company, including construction of Red Cliffs Regional nursing home in St George. He is an active volunteer within the community including Board member of the Washington County School District Foundation and Budget Chair for various Dixie State University areas in the Business and Cultural Arts departments.

Eric Pedersen: Board Chairman, Entrepreneur/Developer/Designer

Eric Pedersen has been involved with numerous successful tech startups including InfoWest, AreaTravel, 32bit.com, DevShed.com, SouthernUtah.com, and others. He is a professor in IT/VT at Dixie State University and was recently appointed Dean of Science and Technology.

David Zollinger: CTO/Programmer/Developer/SysAdministrator

David Zollinger has lived in Southern Utah for over twenty years during which technology has always been an interest since he got his first computer at ten years old. He quickly realized this was what he enjoyed most and pursued the opportunity to get his Associate's Degree and Bachelor's from Dixie State University. David has worked professionally in computer related fields for almost fifteen years and has extensive experience working with both software and hardware.

David Horne: Programmer/Developer

David Horne is a native of Southern Utah. He is a talented programmer and developer and received his CIT/CS degree from Dixie State University in 2010. He loves writing code and making user experiences that are preferred and makes them return.

Jonathan Davis: Designer

Jonathan Davis is originally from Idaho Falls, Idaho. He migrated south to attend Dixie State University and graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Visual Technology. He is an experienced designer who has been working professionally for over 8 years on projects from local online marketing systems to national branding and marketing.

Email Policy

1) Currently everything on the site is accessible without a login.

2) The signup process uses the email address as the username. This is so we can verify the account and make sure it is a legitimate signup and not an automated bot that is looking for security holes. It also allows us to send password reset links if you forget your password.

3) In the future this login will tie more features on the site. Options like signing up for notifications, so for example if you want to be notified of new videos in the DSU Sports section you would be able to specify that and we could send you an email when new content is added.

4) Additionally it provides us with analytical information about our users so we can tailor ads and content better.

We hope this explains the purpose and as traffic increases we like everyone else need the analytics to better improve our services---there will always be an opt out.
